Gas Saving Devices
Over the years, manufacturers have put a number of devices on the market which, they claim, will help your vehicle burn less fuel. Consumer Reports tested three of these in 2008, Fuel Genie, Tornado fuelsaver and Platinum Gas Saver, all of which are installed inline in the vehicles air intake system. The results: “Don’t waste your money. They don’t work.”
The Environmental Protection Association has tested dozens of such devices, in a Device Evaluation Program dating back to 1971, with similar results: the devices don’t work.
The best way to save fuel is to buy a fuel-efficient vehicle, keep it well maintained, and follow the Driving Tips in this website.
